Jim Cary
Former president of the MTCCCA. Just retired Marquette Girls
Cross Country and Track & Field coach. Jim spent 35 years in the
Rockwood district with 30 years coaching. He is a three time MTCCCA
Coach of the Year, twice in Track & Field and once in Cross Country, and
has been a nominee for national Coach of the Year in Track & Field. He
has had 13 top 4 teams in Track & Field and Cross Country at the
Missouri state meets. Over 200 of his athletes have earned all state
honors and have broken three state records.
Don Keeton
Former President of the MTCCCA. Current Springfield
Parkview HS Boys Track & Field coach since 1978, Girls Track & Field
coach since 1988, and both squads in Cross Country since 1984. Don is a
graduate of Springfield Central where he was twice 880 state champion
and a state indoor meet record holder in that event. He coached three
All-Americans and 55 all-state performers in 17 different events
including state record holders Bill Jasinski in the high jump (7’3”) and
Billy Rainey in the 800 (1:49.89). He has also had three all-state
performers in Cross Country.
Reggie James
Former president of MTCCCA. Current Girl’s Track & Field
coach at Ruskin HS. Reggie is a graduate of Kansas City Southeast HS
where he was a state champion in the Long Jump and high point scorer at
the 1969 state indoor meet and of Central Missouri State where he
competed on the track and football teams. He spent nine years coaching
Track & Field and Cross Country at Kansas City Southeast HS and for the
past 21 years at Ruskin HS. He has had five state champion teams, one
boys and four girls, one national champion, five All-Americans, 36 state
champion events in track & field and one in cross country and almost 300
state medalists in track and Cross Country. He is a six time MTCCCA
Coach of the Year and a two time national Coach of the Year.
Kellie Suttle
2000 & 2004 Olympian in the Pole Vault. Kellie is a graduate of
Francis Howell HS, where she was state champion in the Long Jump, and of
Florissant Valley CC where she and All-American in that event as well.
She was the 2001 World Indoor Silver Medalist and 1998 USA champ in the
Pole Vault where she has been ranked in top 5 in United States since
1997, #4 in the world in 2001 and #9 in the world in 2003. At this
time, her vault of 15’1” is the 4th best ever for an
American. |
