Nov. 12, 2009 Cross Country Advisory Committee Meeting
Summary Cross Country Advisory Committee Held November 12, 2009 1. Recommend that all cross country coaches who are individually responsible for a team be required to take an annual online rules meeting, beginning with the 2010-11 school year. **2. Recommend to place at item on the Annual Questionnaire to determine if schools registered for senior high cross country favor decreasing the number of districts for Class 3 and Class 4 from 8 to 4, with the first 5 teams from each district and the top 15 individuals not on the qualifying teams advancing to the State Championships, beginning with the 2010-11 school year. Motion passed 8-0. Amended: To place at item on the Annual Questionnaire to determine if schools registered for senior high cross country favor decreasing the number of districts from 8 to 4 for all classes, with the first 5 teams from each district and the top 7 individuals not on the qualifying teams advancing to the State Championships, beginning with the 2010-11 school year. 3. Recommend that the deadline to submit late entries for sectional and state meets be set at 4:00 p.m. on the Monday before the meet; that no entries be accepted after the established date and time; and that a $50.00 fine be assessed per student-athlete for such late entries. *4. Recommend that the members of the Cross Country Advisory Committee provide a weekly regular season ranking of the cross country teams in his/her area by class and district beginning, with the 2010-11 school year. * Denied ** Tabled for further study *** Approved as amended **** No Action All others approved |
